"Start with the End"
How do you do that? Well, as it relates to parenting you need to keep in mind from day one what you want your child to look like when they are 15, 18, or even 25 years old. It begins the day you bring them home from the hospital that you determine to be intentional with your parenting and that includes preparing them for the future. Sometimes that is the harder choice to make and it takes a lot more time and energy. However, it is the wise choice as you recognize every day the direction you give, in not giving in to them but setting strong, consistent boundaries is what they really need and want. It does not feel like it at the moment but the dividends pay off in the end by leaps and bounds. Think about the end for your child and allow that to motivate you to make the harder choices today.
