"Good Medicine"

Have you ever heard the phrase, “It is not the years in your life

that count, it is the life in your years.”

Well, 2020 has been a lot of hard stuff in one year and for some, pieces of our life, it feels have been taken away. At the very least, our life has changed dramatically. But we still must somehow push forward and move on with life. We must continue to remember that your life has purpose and God designed you for that purpose. I love the Scripture verse in Deuteronomy that says, “Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.” We as adults must choose life every day so that, we then encourage our children to choose life and seek that purpose and plan God has for them. And hopefully along the way, we choose joy too instead of fear. We choose hope instead of darkness and we choose kindness that reflects the love of God. “A happy heart makes the face cheerful . . . a cheerful heart is good medicine.” (Proverbs 15:13 and 17:22) Let’s take our medicine every day and show our children, it is not our circumstances that dictate our walk, it is our faith that moves us to put all the life we can into all our years. As we begin our school year, we pray God’s blessing over every child, parent, and staff member. May we be anointed with health and safety.
